After completing a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, graduates must take a national examination in order to pursue a career as a certified veterinary technician.

The national examination takes place twice every year, in accordance with ministerial decree. On passing the examination, veterinary technicians can enrol as members of the Italian Veterinary Medicine Technician Society.
