The Summer School in FOOD SAFETY, PUBLIC HEALTH & ANIMAL WELFARE – iMOVES & FB will investigate crucial matters on food safety, public health and animal welfare at a global level. These matters all display an interconnected relationship as students will learn more about their implications in an interdisciplinary environment.

Blended Learning: Taking place over three days, these classes aim to familiarize students from different institutions with each other, introduce the topics while highlighting the diversity of various international contexts, and introduce students to new-generation IT tools. This portion is dedicated to accommodating students from programmes other than veterinary medicine.

Hands-on experience: The in-person portion will take place over four days, with practical activities and guided visits to production facilities operating in the primary sector and animal product transformation. In-depth knowledge will be gained as students develop a solid understanding of the legislative framework regarding animal welfare, within which production facilities must operate.

• Bachelor’s and Master’s students
• Maximum 24 participants

After selection by American and Italian professors, a maximum of 12 foreign students from four U.S. universities (Texas A&M, Kansas State, Pennsylvania, Colorado State) will participate, along with up to 12 Italian students from UniPD, divided as follows: 8 from the Veterinary Medicine course, 2 from SIA, and 2 from BFS.
